The aim of this project is to enhance the ability of lecturers to use PDAs for the delivery of content and workplace assessment in the Beauty/Hairdressing/Retail area.
For the participants the aims are as follows: -
o To improve their use of PDAs as a time management tool.
o To gain the skills required to develop resources for PDAs
o To learn how to use PDAs for workplace assessing
The project will achieve:-
o Increased usage of their PDAs.
o Development of educational content and assessment resources for SAL and trainees
The project was funded by Professional Development Support Program funding.
The Professional Development Support Program (PDSP)
The Professional Development Support Program is an initiative funded by the Western Australian Department of Education and Training. Its purpose is to assist managers and practitioners in the wider vocational education, training and employment sector to respond to the challenges resulting from the National Training Framework reforms.
The program aims to promote and support project-based professional development
activities that will produce a number of outcomes including:
Improved skills, practices and/or processes to increase the quality, flexibility and effectiveness of employment based programs.
Increased number of staff with skills to enable them to set up and managesuccessful industry-provider training partnerships within one or more industry sectors.
New practices, processes, strategies and models developed to enhance the quality of teaching, learning and assessment.
Projects are funded on a ‘dollar for dollar’ basis:
Small Projects - Those requesting funding support from $4 000 up to and including $10 000 excl. GST
Large Projects -Those requesting funding support for up to and including $30 000 excl GST (these projects must be collaborative submissions between a minimum of two different organisations)
